Hey guys. Currently I’m securing my anchor on the pulpit with a small line that gets tied to my port bow cleat. I want something neater and was wondering what ya’ll are using.
I was actually asking which model of boat, but didn't initially see your username. Your locker doesn't have a cleat inside it? I use the anchor bungee from Mantus.
My locker has a cleat but I never used it and never had a problem- how would it break loose?
IMHO it's not the fear of breaking loose, but instead taking the load off of the windlass, both while retracted and at short-term anchor (long-term anchor you'd probably want to use a bridle)...at least that's what I was told by an experienced cabin cruiser captain.

I put a 5 gallon Lowe's bucket on the bow with a patio chair cushion. I have the mother in law sit up there and hold the anchor for me.
