Does anybody knows where I can get a gauge to indicate the position of stern drives in relation to the steering. But not the type that goes in the middle of the steering as sold by west marine and others.
Thanks for any advice.

Hi Paul
That mechanical one from West Marine is perfect for us. Simple, and it improved my close quarters maneuvering by orders of magnitude when I stuck it on. Let us know what you come up with.

Yes this simple unit keeps track of the turns. Always comes back to straight. The only time it might go bonky on you is in extremely extremely rough and pounding sea conditions. So that is not a practical problem. I get a lot of value out of mine and relative to everything else boating, they are cheap.
