Engine hatch acting up

My 2008 330EC is having issues with getting power to the hatch actuator.  The motor works in both directions( i jumped power to the disconnected motor), but the switch does nothing. The fuse doesnt appear to be popped on the rear panel, and it quit very suddenly, ie, working 1 minute then dead the next. Is there a relay somewhere i need to check or maybe the fuse is no longer functioning? Batterys are fine.

Did try using the jumper posts at all?  Just curious if those didn't work either, as that might be a clue (e.g. bad wiring.)  I'm assuming your model has them just as my 2006 FV270 does.

If you have a pair of alligator clips you can jump/bypass the circuit breaker to make sure it's not bad...they do go bad, and IIRC the jumper posts bypass the circuit breaker, but YMMV.

Faulty dash switch, had the same issue with intermittent operation.

yes the jumper terminals worked!!! Are there any relays in this system??

of course when i went back up there to troubleshoot i turned the batterys back on and everything worked. So now i cant do any checks. Like you said, probably the switch.. What did you buy to replace it? Contura II momentary on-off- mom. on???

Well hold on...are you positive that the batteries were on when you were having the hatch issue?  On my Rinker the hatch will absolutely NOT work with the battery switch off.

Yes from NewWire. I’ll seek out the receipt for the part number.

On some larger Rinker boats, there's a relay circuit with two relays and two diodes.  If the switch isn't the culprit, let me know and I'll provide circuit diagrams.  On mine, I had to replace one of the diodes.

Just swap the hatch switch with the dash lighting dimmer switch to determine if that's the issue.

Yes cause i opened the hatch already so it was stuck open...

I think that’s MY problem. I have a 360 and I hear relays near the engine room. When my hatch fails, I feel it’s the relays. I don’t know where they live though. Are they at the battery switch?

@echandler1971 - yes they are mounted on the back of the battery switch.
