Wow I thought grounding the A/C with the D/C was a no no. Should never mix a potential cross voltage. Remember DC negative is really not a ground. So I find that very interesting.

Oh, I meant the chassis ground (for the starter motor and engine) and you meant the AC neutral that the generator uses to provide AC power. That goes direct to the switch at the AC breaker panel. You are right, there's no connection from AC to the boat's DC ground buss.
