Bittersweet moment

Since moving to the Midwest in 2021 I wasn’t able to find a slip for my 280. Last year my family and I decided to pivot a little and purchase a travel trailer and sell the boat. Two days after we made that purchase, I got a slip. I figured it would be easier to sell the boat with a slip. Me not being ready to sell, I drug my feet all summer and never even listed her. We did get to enjoy her a few times over the summer which made it worth the cost. Fast forward to this spring. Got the boat out, cleaned her up and had a broker lined up to sell her. Then I got a phone call from a long time friend and fellow Rinker owner in Pittsburgh. He and his wife were looking to upgrade from their 1991 FV250 to something newer. They had seen my boat out on the water and thought that it would be a great fit for them. We came to an agreement on price and I towed her back from Illinois to Pittsburgh yesterday and launched her for them. He let me captain her into her new slip back on the Allegheny River. Was I ready for the change, no, not really. But I know that she will be loved by her new owners. I’m taking a break from boating for a few seasons, but I would like to get more of a day boat to satisfy my love of the water. I will be looking for a 246 cuddy when I do get back in. This will be the first time in 30 seasons that I will be boatless. I will still be around to answer questions and see what yinz are up to along with wishing that I was out on the water. Someday I will be back out there with ya.

    Thanks!! I sold it to Lou who docks at Sharpsburg Islands. He is upgrading from a 1991 Rinker Fiesta Vee 250. He was all smiles when we launched her. I’m sure you will see her out on the water this summer.

    Awesome, I'm sure I'll see the boat then.  We hang with the gang from Sharpsburg down at the parties at the Beaver Valley Yacht club.  Always a good time.

    I won 2nd place in the BVYC Chili Cook Off 2 years ago!!  This year it was fixed lol.  Always a good time there and good people.  My Ryobi drill driver is in the cabinet behind the bar there.  I still need to grab that some time.  We may have been trying to "borrow" some decorations from the wall one crazy night, and I left it there  :D
