So, I sorta retired recently and lord now I hope for a little time for the boat. Keep in mind we have a disabled grand daughter,  2 great grandchildren 1st grade age and I'm 66.
I have inquired on here about mobile vessel view and I'm not sure I get exactly what benifit I will gain- I have a 2006 350 MPI. What I would be looking for is engine codes.
Can't believe it's been around two years since I pulled 75 gallons of bad fuel out of it. I replaced filters a couple of times, new fuel and it was running just fine- fast forward last time we were out around Easter it started fine but would not plane/exceed about 3500 RPM. So, before I pull 75 gallons of fuel out, again, would like to know if there is a code on the motor....high pressure fuel pump was replaced with the last fuel issue. And no, I did not put any stabilizer in it as was was surely going to burn that first tank quick! Not!

I have it on my 2003 5.0’s which were the first with SmartCraft so early iteration where there is not much info that is provided. Later models started expanding with more info but I get RPM, oil and water pressure, engine temperature, hours and fuel burn per the ECM. Codes in mine can be limited but it has given me low voltage (bad 2 year old batteries) and an annoying “can’t talk to fuel pump” code that had me going for a while until I found a bad connector. I have pulled doff the IAC connector and it threw that up right away. So in my experience you’ll get some for the age on my engines, 2006 likely get some more.

On the issue, have you pulled the water separator filters and drained into a glass jar to see if there is water again? I was having rough running issues and found that was the cause and kept running  and clearing out.

Thanks for the input @Ian. I have working gauges and matter of fact I just had them replaced after theft. Decided against VV at that time, figured it just get stolen. So, I'm more interested in codes than anything else. EcM fuel burn, how does that work, the only meter for the fuel is a float which is not that accurate?!. If it will pick up a code for a fuel pump then it would be worth it- if not it sounds like really I'm just getting digital gauges. I think that was where I left off a couple years back. Be nice to be able to have a lot of options like that without a lot $$ for a reader. I'll get a fuel gage from HF and see if I'm getting the pressure.  Now that I've thought about it being at least two years of that fuel cooling in there...

I had it on my 2008 280EC. It saved me a few times when the engine thru a code. One time my IAC went as I was coming into a port and @liberty44140 picked one up for me and sent it over on a ferry. Had me back up in no time. One thing it won’t detect is fuel issues. I had water in my fuel separator and the engine ran like crap. No codes thrown so I had to investigate myself. Ended up being the water separating fuel filter. Changed that out, checked the fuel in the tank which was good and I was back in business. I always saw it as an asset to have and I was glad to have participated in the beta test.
