Beep when starting port engine

I get the normal beep on port and starboard engine when turning the keys to the on position. When I go to crank the port engine I get a beep and it goes away during the start. Does not do this on the starboard engine. I think this is new or just never noticed it. What do you guys think?

    Isn't the beep during start up like a CEL on the dash of a vehicle, it activates for a split second upon start up then goes away? An indicator that the system is functional.

    @PickleRick , on a Mercruiser I believe that test is when you turn the key to the on position not when you crank.

    My boat has always done that. Never figured it out.

    Just one engine. I tried swapping the starter batteries and it didn’t change anything. Hopefully you figure it out, it’s annoying!!

    @YYZRC , I unplugged and looked at the connector for the water pressure sensor. There was some corrosion on the plug, I plugged it back in. Went to start the port engine and now no extra beep. I did change the fuel pressure regulator on the port side, thinking this could be my plug issue. Not sure if the water sensor or fuel pressure fixed it 🤷🏻‍♂️.

    I think it would be odd for the water pressure sender to be the issue since the water pressure would be zero when starting the engine.

    Is it possible it would know it wasn’t making a good connection, thinking it was a bad sensor?

    I have full VesselView (not mobile) and it shows the water pressures. Mine are consistent between engines so I know my senders are good. Maybe I will swap them just for fun.

    It’s possible it was my fuel pressure while cranking that caused the beep and the regulator cured it. But curious if it follows if you swap.

    Is this the regulator in the cool fuel module? Does it just pull out?

    Yes, 2 8mm bolts then it pulls right up.

    Well, I just started her up and no extra beeps today (!!). Go figure.

    That’s funny!
    So you don’t monitor fuel pressure, Just fuel flow? Do Mercruiser even have fuel pressure sensors?

    I don't think VV can output the fuel pressure. For sure its in the PCM but I don't have a scan tool.
