Axius / Joystick Beep Codes

Anybody familiar with Axius/joystick beep codes?
I regularly get a "beep-beep (pause) then beeeep" when running the boat. I initially thought it was a GPS loss-of-signal, but finally noticed that when the beeping occurs the Axius control upper left LED blinks during the initial "beep-beep" then stops and goes solid LED when it "beeeeeeps" about 10 seconds later.
Also at the same time the Vessel View display does the Green "System OK" check message.
So it seems that the system is checking itself and everything is good - but can't figure out why it does it at random times.
