Question about differece between 2014 and 2017 290 Express Cruiser

I just bought a 2014 290 EC.   We're really excited to drop it in Lake Tahoe this month.  The one drawback my boat has is the lack of a cockpit cover and the enclosure while functional is a bit too far on the "used" side.  I realize that I can have a cockpit cover made and am looking into that.  I have also been talking with a guy who has a 2017 cockpit cover and enclosure for sale which would cost me significantly less than having one made.  Would anyone care to comment if this is a dead end, or could I (with some professional help possibly) make this work?

Congrats on the new boat and welcome to the forum! Do your enclosure panels have black tags with part numebrs on them? If so, you might be able to compare yours with his to see if they are the same. Pic of one of mine for reference:

Thanks for that idea.  Went to look for tags and none of my enclosure pieces or have tags at all.  Must've been custom made by one of the two original owners.  I'll keep digging on this.

RnR marine website says that their custom made covers only fit 2012-2016 models.  That indicates some differences between my 2014 and a 2017, so this cover set I am looking at isn't going to happen.

I took a quick look at RnR marine's website too, and didn't even see a 2017 290 listed, which I thought was weird.

Yeah...kind of a bummer.  What year was the part number you shared Grouch0jr?

My boat is a 2006 342, sorry for not making it clear that my boat is different.

One thing to consider is that your snaps are likely not going to line up.  Most covers you buy come without them and you end up installing them to match what you have.  if he is willing you might want to try a test fit.
