My house is around 35 miles to the launch pad- and we did not see it go up. We had cloud cover right over us which cleared after launch. I wanted see this one! I'm sure there are a few fans here of the space program.

I’d love to see a launch, bit of a lurking fan of the program. I came home from school to see Armstrong take those steps.

FYI part of the computer used in the Apollo program is in a small nondescript Computer Museum in Bozeman MT https://acrmuseum.org/ . Visited it once when we went to see our son who lives there. I’ll have to dig out the picture.

    Regards,

The launch was perfectly clear on TV 😃.  I’m so glad it was successful!  It’ll be fun to see the progress as they continue launches.

A distant relative - now dead - was an astronomer and has a crater (actually three, the main crater and two satellite craters) named after him. And no, this wasn't one of those pay to buy a star scams.

Sad part is it's on the dark side, so we never get to see it except in the old fly-by photos and charts from the 70's. Hopefully Artemis can snap a few new ones.
