Back Seat

OK I need some ideas or input. My 2002 342 the small back seat compartment is getting water in it and I can't use that space for anything. Is anyone else having that problem and what was your solution? TIA for any input.

You think it could be getting in, with a compromised seal on the Rub Rail?

No I think the rain is running down on top of the gunwale and entering that way

I used to use that spot to keep extra oil and other fluids. Mine also would get water every once in awhile. Even the large seat up front next to the Helm would get water in it. What I did was drill a simple weep hole at the lowest spot so the water would drain out. Then put in perforated mat. You can get some from Home Depot but they kind of smell like rubber. That at least kept anything that I put in the compartments up out of the water.

I get rain run off into the rear seat on the 310 and like @davidbrooks said, I usually keep oils and cleaning stuff in bottles in there with brushes, extendable handles, cover props, cloths etc on top so the don’t soak up.
