Grilling on Swim Platform

So I've got a Magma grill that sets up on a pedestal mount on the swim platform. I love grilling back there, but sometimes it's a bit messy. Debris and grease from the grill ends up on the swim platform. Does anyone have any tips for keeping it clean? Up till now I've just been giving the foam decking a quick scrub down with a deck brush and raw water, but sometimes I have to go back with upholstery cleaner. I've been thinking about just laying a towel down or something to catch any debris/grease, but I'd like a more form-fitting solution. I tried looking for some sort of giant bib to lay around the pedestal but haven't found anything. What do you guys do?

Take a 2" X 4" outdoor mat and put a hole in the center for the pedestal. When setting up the BBQ place the mat on the platform. Remove and clean when finished.

Exactly, put down a large mat with a hole in it, heck if you want to go big, by a bbq mat.

I did not like the magma grill back when I had one. It was never an even flame so there were really hot spots and really cold spots. Currently using Weber Qs depending on how much grill space is needed. Even heat and a built in catch pan
