Garmin with sunburned screen

We have a very basic garmen 542s chart plotter and surprised, as little sun exposure, the center of the screen is burnt. I would think basic old ones cheap but not so much...and then I read you can buy the replacement film for 20 bucks and it does not sound to tuff to replace...anyone looked into that?
