volvo 5.7 OSi problems
I had intermittent problems all summer with my starboard engine. On occasions, it would fire but then just stall out. Othertimes, it would run fine. Did not seem to be related to engine temperature. The marina mechanic first replaced the idle control valve, then the fuel pump (high and low pressure). Still had problems. The mechanic said that the diagnostic computer was telling them that the ICV and fuel pumps were the problem. I started doing a little research myself. It could be something as simple as a short somewhere in the wiring but maybe its the Engine Control Module (ECM).
Anyone had similar problems? Does anyone know where they stash the ECM on a 342?

I had a similar sounding problem. Plagued me for an entire season. It turned out to be a defective cable that ran from the ECM module to the plugs, At least I think I have the terminology correct. This cable ran over the top of the engine.
