Cabin Lights power question

OK, went down to check out the boat. Plugged it into 110....electrical panel reads 110. Both engine and house batteries are out of the boat. Microwave works, stove works but none of my lights turn on. Are the lights only hooked up to the house battery 12 volt system? How does this work?

Yes all of lights in the cabin are 12v powered. They will not work without the battery

If the boat is in the water, you might want to get the batteries back in ASAP because your bilge pumps won't work if a leak develops. Just a thought.

Seashift is right. Many things on the boat will only work via the battery. The 110V charges the battery as the accessories consume power.
