2005 FV 270 TV Replacement....?

I would like to replace the original 12" TV with a larger flat screen model. If anyone has already done this, I would appreciatte any information ie  is it much of a job, how big did you go, mount it directly in or on a swing arm? Thanks in advance.

Exactly the same TV I put in TikiHut. I rarely use it but when I do watch a dvd it's great to have. I've never been succesful getting any TV reception when anchored. Maybe it's that booster thang..... Low priority either way.

sorry, but "digital" antenna is a real joke.  There is no difference for the digital.

FWIW, I changed over my tv as well to one with a built-in DVD.  It is by Naxa, and is 12Vdc.  I've had good luck with that brand on 2 boats now.  (did it on my 310 as well).

I'd say buying a swing arm is a good thing, making it easily removeable if you wanted while cruising.

RY, yeah I have the 2004 flying saucer disc that's stock eqt. Pretty sure it'll pluck anything out of the sky that's strong enough for the TV receiver to see so my issue might be the teeny antenna, a lame receiver, the booster or a bad connection somewhere. I've used an antenna on my house since 1997 and didn't have to upgrade it when TV receivers changed over to digital and my house tv reception is awesome.

Very impressive antenna shape RY. Personally I'd like one shaped like a 50cal :D

Seriously, I should look into a better mount because it ends up getting tossed around pretty regularly when a crossing gets lumpy....... I'm afraid my TV dosen't get much respect when I'm on-board. It's good for rainy days but that's about it.

RY, good luck getting much of anything in Solomon's. Even decent radio stations are tough there. I'm always glad I have Sirius when we are there.

RY, I guess it matters what genre music you listen to! ;) But as you said, I usually don't have local station on anyway.

put mine on a swivel mount dvd/tv combo. 1999 270 with an external antenna which is mounted in a kinda funky spot, but it works great. Just forward of the helm.
