I would like to replace the original 12" TV with a larger flat screen model. If anyone has already done this, I would appreciatte any information ie is it much of a job, how big did you go, mount it directly in or on a swing arm? Thanks in advance.

I made a backboard of 3/4" plywood and mounted it where the old 12v tv was. In my case, I would never use my tv without shore power so I could eliminate the need for 12v in exchange for a much better tv/DVD. I know some 270's had tv cabinets but mine was mounted forward facing in front of the head on a cabinet door. The new unit fits perfectly where the old one was. Great updat... Good luck

sorry, but "digital" antenna is a real joke. There is no difference for the digital.
FWIW, I changed over my tv as well to one with a built-in DVD. It is by Naxa, and is 12Vdc. I've had good luck with that brand on 2 boats now. (did it on my 310 as well).
I'd say buying a swing arm is a good thing, making it easily removeable if you wanted while cruising.

Very impressive antenna shape RY. Personally I'd like one shaped like a 50cal
Seriously, I should look into a better mount because it ends up getting tossed around pretty regularly when a crossing gets lumpy....... I'm afraid my TV dosen't get much respect when I'm on-board. It's good for rainy days but that's about it.
