Water leak 290 Ffiesta Vee

My friend as a 290 2004 that has developed a water leak on the starboard side near the rear entrance of the rear bunk (see red arrows) any body had that problem and what was the solution. Thank Paul

    Is it truly a water leak from above?  If it is the carpet, have him check his galley sink sump box, which is probably the culprit.  If it is coming from above, like down the walls for sure, then he's got some crawling around to do to see where it is coming in.  I would suggest pulling the passenger lounge up top and emptying out the storage area.  Try sticking a small person, or more likely, a video camera/phone in the back and run some water down the channel adjacent to the portside windows, and finally from the outside at the rub rail with a hose.  It should be one of those areas that are leaking...but, I would still go with the galley sump box.  I have to pull mine and de-gunk it twice a season to prevent this.
