Can somebody explain how and why there is a point system on this forum and those it work ? Thanks

For every 100 points, you get $10!  ......only allowed to purchase more points!

Ok, no idea what the points mean except that the more you have, the more time you probably spent on here talking boats.

I think someone asked that same questions a long time ago, it would be handy to have some list just for giggles.  Maybe Capt Steve can help?

I did check with Capt Steve awhile back and this is what he said....

Hey Ray....those points are earned by commenting, posting, helping & generally being a good guy. Haven't really set up a structure yet, but open to ideas.................. So if anyone has any idea's let me know and I will forward them to Capt Steve

The stars after your name are earned by number of comments.

Edit: I think I spend too much time on here

That one BD should know if I told my wife there is someone on here that post twice as much as me, well, she wouldn't believe me! always nice to know I'm not THAT crazy when it comes to boating.

Well, I am THAT crazy about boating..... scuba diving, caribbean beaches and the Admiral. Oh yeah and tequila. For awhile there I think the Admiral was wondering who the heck I was on the internet with! Then she saw the number of my posts. She too, now thinks that I am THAT crazy.... about boats. :-) MT

Yeah right I joined few weeks ago with less than 10 points & no Stars  

I frequently notice those crazy boaters above there and few other names actually I see your comments in every single discussions and trust me they are not just talk TALK very insightful & informative helpful links & ideas

Although I had more comments than B_D ( incredible feat I know) I never got any points!

Steve used to reward points for good comments. He's not around anymore so the only way to get points is via the automated point reward system (when you reach milestones like anniversary or 1000 comments or someone accepts your answer).

Milestones are badges. I think star's are for comments/posts. As a mod I can not see how to give stars......

Rinker gear would be great! Who takes care of the other Nautic Global boards, or do they have appointed Mods like we have on here?

I don't think the others have Mods I post on this one but it's not very active http://godfreypontoonboats.vanillaforums.com/  I think we were appointed mods when we brought the old RBO forum over here we have very little power move or close a post and Banning if necessary
