Helm switch layout for 2002 FV 342

StodgeStodge Member Posts: 2,738 ✭✭✭✭
I've purchased a 2002 FV 342.  Most of the labels on the illuminated switches at the helm have been rubbed off.  Is there a diagram, or photo available that will show me what function the switches have?  I hate to push and guess.

Thanks,

Mike

I have a 2002 FV 310, not sure if the layout is the same but you're welcome to try.  More Good news - go to http://searay-parts.com      http://www.searay-parts.com/Carling-rocker-switch-s/122.htm     Here you will find most (but not all) of the replacement actuators for $2.50 each.

I had to go to ebay for PANEL  WIPER  and TRANSOM LT.  They were $10.50 each on E-Bay

    NAV/ANCH -  ARCH LTS  -  TRANSOM LTS - COCKPIT LTS -  ACC - PANEL LTS - ENG HATCH - WIPER - BILGE - BLOWER - HORN

I think what would work the best is a photo of the helm switches of someone's 342.  Then I'd know what's where.

You need to post a picture if yours looks different. Why is that boat listed for only $47,900?????

That's good money for an 02. I bet it goes for less.

If someone owes nothing on their boat they will list it way below value  just to get rid of it. Same with houses.

I agree, but not sure why anyone would think that what they still owe on their boat is what it is worth. Money talks & I see why too many people think they're boat is worth way too much. I've been a two-boat owner twice, and both times was for less than a month. What sold each of mine was, the boat was in the water, immediately ready for a ride, in great shape, & priced right.

Priced right is always the key..home, car, boat.  people get 'greedy' or price to 'talk down' and buyers walk buy.

Thanks for the photos and list.  I'm going to figure out some labels.

One questions, the switch labeled "panel lights" is a momentary switch that can go up or down, just like the engine hatch switch.  But I haven't been able to figure out what it actually does.

Stodge, that adjust the lighting on your dash when you have your running nav lights on.  It helps keep the dash glare at a minimum when navigating at night.

Had the same issue so I replaced all of my switch covers this fall, $60 from new wire marine. Took 10 minutes

@Liberty44140, did you get the etched? It looked liked it would be really helpful in the dark.
thanks for your help, these will look nice I was sick of guessing. The switch by the keys in the picture above that has acc on it. What does it do? I ordered the cover but don’t know what it does.

I did not get the etched, I went with the least expensive switches with the blue squares. Etching would certainly be nice but I didn’t think that I needed it.
On my boat the switch next to the ignitions is the blower so I got a switch labeled blower for that one.

Mine is not the blower but it makes sense and should be. If anyone knows what that switch controls on a 2002 342, I would really appreciate it.

Our 310 of the same era is like that and had nothing wired to it, a spare. I wired the stereo off the port key acc position to this switch instead.

I ended up getting a label maker that accepts different color film, and film that prints white on clear.  Then I put those labels on my dash.  At some point I want to replace the switch covers.  Several folks on here have done that.
