Boat Lift Capacity for '89 186 Captiva

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for a used boat lift for my 1989 186 Captiva. The NADA Guide says it weighs 2180# with the 4 cylinder engine. I have a 6 cylinder. How much more weight does that add and how big a lift do I need. By the way, I'm in the Clare County area of Michigan if anyone has a good deal on a lift.

Although all boat lifts are engineered to hold more weight that their "sticker" says remember to calculate your boat's "wet" weight which includes gasoline, water and items left on board. MT .....I would say that a 3000 pounds lift would easily hold your total wet weight.

Thanks, Michael. That's what I was looking for at a minimum. Just wanted to double-check with the group before I bought anything.
