Yeah, its a controlled burn of invasive phragmites. It ended up being visible from like 20 miles away. We ended up going on the lake that day and the amount of ash was pretty impressive. They picked a pretty stupid day to do it, with the boat party being that day.
I wondered when someone would ask that! The docks are all 4-5' higher than the water so no boarding off the aft and the view is better..otherwise you get to look at the dock underside :P
Sebago Lake Region in Maine. From the bottom tip of Sebago, up through the Songo River Locks, across Brandy Pond and up all the way to Harrison on Long Lake give us around 40 miles of boating.
Man, DanD that's prime right now. Been there a few yrs ago with Rinker friends from Casco/Naples. Maybe you've done these hand locks N of Sebago.......
You can tell which one is from Fl... wearing the sleeves in the frosty low mid day temps in the 70's. LOL. leaves must be getting ready to start too.
Avalon, Catalina Island, California. It's hard to believe this only 30 miles from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles. My favorite place on planet earth, and I've been a lot of places. Andy
I do love looking at all the pictures! Sure gets me ready for spring! Two more rounds of ice and snow and then in the 40's this weekend! Couple weeks max now!!

Hey BD I have a question. Why is everyone bow in? Do you have to get on and off your from the bow?

Been boating that area since 2003 so I'm very familiar with the hand locks on the Songo River.
