Trim Pump sae j1171 Reservoir Cap

The yellow reservoir cap on my pump wont tighten,  might be stripped.   

 can one of you guys check to see if your cap tightens or is it supposed to be loose or is it vented??

Mine have always tightened and were vented (small hole). MT

In the interim, a wrap of that magic gray (duct tape) fixerall around the bottles threads (between the cap and bottle when the cap is on, in other words) will keep it secured until replacement is found...

the cap from the mercruiser 5 quart engine oil jug fits perfect,  I will have to add a mini hole ehhh?
