kohler 5e cleaning the flame resistor

Can anyone explain to me  that after taking the left side panel of the sound barrier there are about 12 screws on a face plate covering the flame  resistor .its never been clean in 8 years.... model is a 2006-  342 RINKER

Testing my memory here: sound cover end comes off. Then the plastic 'air tube' then 3 screws for the spark arrestor. The arrestor does NOT come apart. Wash in dish soap then dry. Or brake cleaner works too, just more $$.

Sound shield off; remove black plastic shroud that has the coolant reservoir attached to it, you do not have to remove the coolant reservoir just pull the overflow hose out of the reservoir; there are 4 I believe 13mm screws fastening it; remove the 3 flat head screws fastening the arrestor; clean the little circular arrestor and reassemble.

MY 5 e  generator was built in 2005   and the reservoir bottle is located on the front. .Are you saying the  arrestor is  behind  the bottle?

Yes, you have to take off that plasic cover that also holds the overflow bottle.
