well ive got a 94 ringer fv300, its come time for my seating to be replaced the wood supports rotting out and the seams are busting. i have some experience running a sewing machine and im handy with wood. however ive never tackled upholstery. ive found numerous youtube videos and blogs telling me how to do it. just curious has anyone gone the diy route and what hicups did you run into?

I know a guy that just wrapped over his old vinyl and stapled it underneath.  It looks alright considering, but I'm sure he saved a wack of money.  Do all of your supports need to be replaced?

Yes all my wood framing is soft. So I'll essentially be building new seats only thing original would be the foam if
    It's in good shape
