Transducer Replacement

Looking for some advice on replacing my thru hull transducer.  I'm upgrading to the Garmin GPSmap 741xs and need to install a new through hull transducer that will provide sonar depth and water temp.  My thought is to take out the current depth transducer, do away with the faria depth gauge and put the Garmin B60 in its place and view the depth on the garmin screen.  Not sure if the hole will be the same size or not for the transducer.  I can most likely figure out a way to make the hole saw work if the current hole needs to be larger just not looking forward to it.


I could also just install the new transducer in a different location.   Any thoughts or advice from your experiences.  Does Anyone know what model transducer is hooked to the faria depth gauge on a 2003 312?

    Hi , standard thru all transducer for faria. SN2060A - Thru-hull Transducer Provides minimal drag in the water. 235 kHz transducer. 1 5/8 in diameter with 26 feet of cable.

    im adding a chartplotter with sounder.  I need a new sounder for that and was looking to replace the existing one.  If I can successfully install the new sounder I would do away with the faria depth gauge completely.   Sorry if I didn't make sense.

    I know what I need....  im looking for advice on whether to try to get the faria sounder out and replace with the garmin... or Drill a new hole   Has anyone tried to get the factory installed faria sounder out of the hull.

    I did change mine this spring a little hard to remove with all the caulking but not that bad. Sorry I did not understand your request. Paul
