So I thought the boat needed an "upgrade" and replaced the stock speakers with Kicker 6.5" marine led speakers. I did not swap the source unit (yet) I kept the clarion amp wired to the speakers and added a kicker subwoofer and an alpine amp dedicated to the sub. WHAT a difference! Since I as basically alone at the marina with the exception of a few techs working on boats...I rocked it out and it was awesome! Looking forward the hearing it at speed.

Where did you mount the sub?

Under the port side lounge seat. I had considered the aft seat, however, this is where most stored items are.

I'm thinking of mounting mine in the acess port next to the helm. Then use the woofer as the access cover.

What did you use in your arch? I'm having a hard time finding 2" depth speakers.

The arch already had the clarion speakers mount in them. I do believe you can get a spacer block to surface mount on the arch creating the space you need. I'm pretty certain this is how the factory does it as well

I tried the spacers with the kickers, it didn't look good. I bought the sony replacement which look and work fine, but they don't match the speakers with the led I have everywhere else.

Ah young grass hopper, it must match! You worker smarter and get spacers to look good. Then speakers match.
