Hydrofoil on a Cruiser?

Hydrofoil on a Cruiser? Anyone use one?  Pros? Cons?  My old 21' open bow had one and I was just wondering if I needed one on the Fiesta Vee?

I had one on my old 19ft cuddy, and didn't notice much of a difference. If your boat has trim tabs, then it should not be needed. I know drilling holes in a Mercruiser outdrive will void the corrosion warranty. Hope this helps.

Won't help on something that big.  trim tabs or even the spring-loaded trim-plates.  That will help 10 fold over a hydrofoil.

I wouldn't rule it out, but do your research.  There are people who swear by them and are using them on boats within the size and weight range of your 260. Seeems like I remembered on the old forum a 270 owner had a slow to plane issue and had gotten Rinker involved and their fix included the addition of a hydrofoil...with good results.
