Paint in my cool fuel pump module need help please

My rinker 320 with twin mercruiser 5.0 MPI . will not go over 2600 rpms both I found paint in both regulators on pump module I clean all paint out of module and change regulators I have 40 psi on rail fuel filters are clean and regulators on rail are clean I cleaned bottom of boat but still can't get over 2600 rpm engines running smooth not rough any ideas please need help

This may be a dumb question. Are you in guardian mode? Low water pressure will put you in guardian mode and keep your rpm's down to about 2600. I would think you would have an alarm though. I have the Diacom software from Rinda, It's the best money ever spent. No more mysteries. I scan the motors and if I don't know I email it to my mechanic. We catch problems before they are problems.
look in your engine's manual for the procedure to troubleshoot poor rpms...there should also be a procedure to reset guardian mode....
Wow, that's a lot of paint. I had this issue last year and had to replace both fuel coolers. It takes very little to cause issues. I mean a minute amount to cause any issues at all.

Dream am looking for 2 new fuel coolers now but a lot of cash for them
My mechanic says it's the injectors but the engine is running to smooth I think with the paint in both fuel coolers I believe the engines went into guidance mode
