1995 Captiva 212 Shattered Walk thru Window replacement

Yesterday I took my cover off of the boat and the center walk through window was shattered on my 1995 Captiva 212 open bow.  Can I just have a windshield repair/replacement company replace the glass in the window- tempered glass? Has anyone gone through this and what did it cost?  The boat dealer I talked to said it was over $1,100 and I find that hard to believe.  Looking for some guidance.

Check with Taylormarine as they make a lot of windshields for boats, even Rinker. My 2004 Captiva 232 BR has their windshield. Is there a sticker on the windshield somewhere, as to the manufacturer, who supplied this windshield to Rinker? If the frame is still intact I think they can make the glass to fit. Mine has a sticker showing Taylor. Hope this helps, Rob

Being that it is the flat middle piece, I would think you can take the frame and have glass made into it.  I'd be specific though about it being for a boat and to use the correct type of glass.

Thanks and great advice Robs_232 and Dream_Inn.  Dream_Inn- do you have a 212 and is your center window flat?  Dealer told me it was curved, but I thought it was flat.
