A/C problems

Hi guys, anyone have an a/c on their boat with a mind of it's own? Some times it works great, then the fan goes on all by it's self, the pump turns  on then off, all kinds of weird stuff. When the fan turns on by it's self, you cannot turn it off by the main controller. My thought is that it is the controller it's self. Any one have this phantom?

It won't do a thing when it goes into crazy mode

Checked the communication wire between the main and the ac unit. Ok. When you unplug the main, the fan turns on, just like disconnecting an ECM from a car. When the fan goes on by itself, pushing the power will do nothing.

Seems like that also, I checked for cold solder points and all seem okay, must be the ic inside

Just got off the phone with a servive tech in our area, I discribed what was going on, he feels it`s the controller card on the unit itself and not the Passport I O. The way it was explained was that the Passport is nothing but a slave in which it gets it`s commands from the card on the unit. Big Bucks coming my way.

Sure wish I had kept the electronics from my old passport on my 310. It had Freon issues from rusting but it sure could've helped someone else with parts.  I put it right in the trash.  good luck.
