My 99 fiesta vee ran out of gas yesterday. The gauge showed 1/2 tank. If I moved everyone to the front of the boat it showed 1/4. I would think the float and sending unit is ok it acted like it was moving with the fuel. I added 5 gal and it started. I am wondering if there is something wrong with the fuel pump or fuel pickup. I cannot find access to the pump or sending unit. Can someone help me with their location?

I am also thinking it is a pickup problem. I am just trying to figure out how to access it. I did not check the filter but it had pressure at the injectors. Just it was spraying out air and fuel.
The tank is under the aft bed. I cannot find a access panel. I wonder If I will need to pull up the carpeting? The fuel line goes from the filter to the lower starboard side of the bulkhead between the engine room and the aft cabin.
Bonus reason for a fuel flow monitor like FloScan, used correct you know exactly how much you have used and how much to refill, then you can skip the tank level monitor issues.

I found the pickup and sending unit. It is in the engine compartment under the heater hoses to the water heater. I will need to remove hoses to get to the pickup.
I know this is and older thread but love my fuel meter. Never could trust my dash gauge, only use it for a proximity level if that.
I wanted to add a fuel flow meter to my Lowrance, but it says to mount it vertically. My fuel line is about 2 feet long and is horizontal. How can one be added without extra fuel line?
