yes and I am in salt water 24/7/365. Mine are 2006 5.0's with a closed cooling with NS system for the risers and manifolds. I picked the boat up in 09. Used the product for a year. Figured the cost of NS was to much since I use the boat all the time. Replaced the port riser manifolds in 2012 due to a Crack but otherwise looked good. The starboard side will be done this fall as preventative maintenance since it's 8 years old. 6 years is about the limit... So as long as you're using the boat on a regular basis I think the NS is a waste of money. The main reason these parts rust up so fast is when boats sit for long periods of time and not run. Air is mixed with the saltwater in the risers manifolds. It's that mix of air that kills them. Running them keeps the system clean.
Do a an experiment... put a nail in salty water and leave it there. Take another and just dip it and set it aside. Over a few days notice which one accumulated more rust. Now the one in the jar. If it had high pressure water blasting it on a regular basis. It would stay fairly rust free for a much longer period of time.
My two bits...

There is another solution you could use. I had the garden type hoses that are on the side of the engines plumbed to the transom. Makes it easier to give a "fresh water flush" after each salt water cruise. I agree the nutra salt is not an economical solution.

Closed cooling system. The injected fresh water cleans out the salt water side. My opinion is that it prevents and slows down a lot of corrosion.
BTW, I like my new gassers just as much as you like your desiels. Both great power plants. I was bringing (solo) the Salt Shaker back to her home dock. Up on plane the only description I can think of for the experience is that the boat reminded me of what I would expect of a PT boat. Heavy and sure footed boat. It was awesome.
