Tell the admiral we need a video of the process to better understand the problem LOL. Mine usually picks prime back up from the bowl. What about a setting it up like a trash pump were u could pour water in to prime it
MT, there are several things you can do. Easiest is to take her for a quick spin. Another is you can just use a hose and squirt water back thru the output on the side of hull (I use forward one, but you can try mid one as well). another is to just turn/crack the strainer and let water fill in with seacock open to let air out. I've seen it all done having many lifts in my marina. if I forget to turn my seacock before lifting I loose prime as well. Never any sucking going on though.
The 342 has a similar AC pump set up. When I clean the strainer I hand tighten, open the sea water valve and then loosen the strainer to let the air out and the water in, once it is filled, tighen up and hit the on button, works every time.
oh, when I said crack the seal I meant with the seacock open, not the pump on. The pump won't suck anything thru with it slightly cracked, but water will come up to that point and may help with priming. I also thought maybe you had two a/c's (I do) and use the back outlet to put water in, but I guess you don't.
We have boats hauling already. 2 weeks will start the surge. Unless we get a rare indian summer, the big lake whips up a lot now. We went from mid 70's to low 60's for highs and into the 40's at night already.
4 more weekends after this one for us. Like you said Mt, last in first out for us at LCM. Saw Black Beauty sitting there yesterday. We'll have to meet up one of these weekends.
