Cloudy portholes

The portholes on my 242FV are cloudy. Has anyone had any success cleaning or polishing them clear again?

I never tried but I'm sure you can get them clear again by wet sanding with very fine paper then a good polish and wax.

First find out if they are made of acrylic or polycarbonate , acrylic can be buff starting with 1000 sandpaper then 2000 and a good compound to finish(depending how bad they are) 
Do not try on polycarbonate.

I don't know what type of plastic they are made of. I can still see through the cloudiness, but don't want to chance making them worse.

Call the manufacture to know what the material is. Or do a research on the net.

I would start with the headlight polish and then go to wet sanding if that doesn't work.

If you wet sand polycarbonate you will never get  the sanding mark out of it .better be safe than sorry.

I used the cleaner that is recommended for glass cook tops.  I think its something like ceramabrite but don't think I spelled it correctly.  Regardless it worked like a charm!

Thanks for the info, I have a headlight restore kit in the garage so I think I'll try that first on the bathroom porthole.

That is a good idea dog.  That stuff works great on the cooktops without scratching.  I wonder what else it is good for...hmmmm.
