Has anybody added a windlass remote?

Someone was not thinking when they put the windlass on the 342 without any way to control it from the bow.  I looked at the switch at the helm and it's very large and looks like it has #6 or #4 going to it.  So the cheap wireless solutions with the tiny relay will not work.  Has anybody found a wireless windlass remote that can work with the windlass configuration on the 342?

so you have a manual remote switch at the helm that is not wired? Was a little confused what your asking....not sure why you would want a wireless and I'm thinking the remote switch on my helm uses a lot of juice....if you have the wires to the helm put in a switch?

I have a switch at the helm.  I want to add a switch I can use at the bow.  Adding a wired switch to the bow would be a major project.  I was looking at adding a wireless switch in parallel with the helm switch.

If 30 amps is not enough I can look for a 4 relay version and put 2 30 amp relays in parallel.  I peeked at the switch in the helm but didn't see the rating on it.

DanD2, the windlass in my 342 either has the solenoid hidden or there isn't one.  The switch in the helm is very large and has some big wire going to it.  That remote you posted says it's for solenoid switched windlass.

I just looked at the wire diagram from Rinker.  It's shows a relay for the 900 Series windlass, but none for the 700 Series.  So it may depend on your config Dan.

My 342 is a 2005 with a 700 and has a solenoid, it's hidden behind the subwoofer.

Hmmmmm, I will have to look there.  Not too hopeful as the helm switch is huge and has some pretty big wire running to it.

Just flick your windlass up and down, if you hear clicking on the lower right behind the dash, you've got a solenoid. All the wiring diagrams that I've seen (Rinker and Lewmar) show that the 700 does not but I know for a fact that mine does.
