Where do you guys get paper charts from for the rivers, Ohio, Beaver, Alegheney, Mononghehela? I want to have back up in case i have a gps failure.
ok i also think its cool to have proper charts on board!

WestMarine sells them.  I have a nice chart book that has The St. Clair River, the Detroit River and Lake St. Clair.  I would expect a local retailer to have similar books for the region.

You can get PDF versions of charts from NOAA.  http://www.nauticalcharts.noaa.gov/pdfcharts/

I read somewhere that NOAA was no longer going to produce papercharts...I guess the data is so out of date that they aren't as much use as they used to be anyway....

I have a chartbook that comes laminated made by ADC.  I like using it at times instead of playing around on the screen.  Definitely a good idea for backup.
