how do I fix peeling vinyl on dash?

hey everyone I am a proud new owner of a 1996 captivia 192. This is my first inboard/outboard boat and ofcourse first rinker! The boat is very clean for the year minus a few flaws that I am going to work out, the first thing on my agenda is to fix my passenger side dash........the vinyl is peeling and will try to post a picture of it. Whats the best way to repair it and is this a common issue on the rinkers? I am a diy kinda guy so taking it to a upolsterer isnt a option ar this point

A little hard to tell from the picture. If its pealing from under maybe a little contact cement will help

yes its peeled from bottom up almost goes right up to the botton of the radio!

3M sells a spray can of (I think) 77 contact cement. You can use that with a spatula to get the bubbles out. Should work good for you. Good luck and keep us posted..

What is it, a vinyl wrap? If so get someone to pull it off and apply the new wrap.

On my old 232, I had the same issue at the bottom of the dash on both the drivers side and passengers side of the boat. I would have never thought of getting it rewrapped. If you can find someone to do it, the color choices are endless and it would really update the look of the boat. Good luck.

sorry about that post^^. Anyhow I got a can of contact cement tomorrow I will test i out anf post my results. I really dont wanna spend a ton of money on a18 year old boat

wondering how you made out. I have used locktite vinyl and fabric glue with allot of success and also krazy glue for small spots.

my apologies I cleaned area lightly with acetone then coated it with contact cement. It came out very nice we will see how it holds up to the test of time now
