Replacing skylights

I have those odd shaped skylights, they are a parallelogram shape, they leak, and are in bad shape.
I figure the best solution is to replace them but all im finding is square or rectangle shape ones, how easy, or difficult is is to cut the opening for a new one?

If I remember right they aren't to bad do watched it done but never done it myself  might be able to have new ones made

Im planning on taking one out this weekend to see if the fiberglass is cut or formed for the opening, i would like to change them for rectangular ones and replace the center one too, as it will update the look of her as well.

OK so there is not enough space to cut my openings square, so im talking to raybo marine to see if they can make new ones, but if they cant or the cost is too high my plan is simple,
1.remove the old windows
2.cut a piece of tinted polycarbonate 1" all around larger than the opening
3.silicone seal around the opening and lay the polycarbonate on it
4.cut some aluminum trim to fit
5.drill holes all around the perimeter  through the trim, polycarbonate, and    fiberglass
6.silicone the holes
7.install screws.

So finally this off season i built some new windows, here they are


Heres the old ones they were covered in sealand and tape from the previous owner.

Nice. Looks like you added a solar powered vent as well?  When you get a chance, would love to see a picture from inside as well.  Great job!

This is great! I have an 88 fiesta vee 250 with leaky windows as well. I tore out the old silicone and replaced with new... seems to be working for now, but it really was a terrible design. (no matter what, water wants to pool in the corner of those windows!)
