Bravo 3 anodes

I was looking at replacement anodes for my Bravo 3 outdrives.  It appears I have 4 pieces, which matches the kit for 2003 and older Bravo 3s.  A friend with a mid 90s boat with Bravo 3s has 2 more anodes than mine, a second in the cavitation plate and a cone on the prop.  From what I can tell, this is the combination for the 2004 and newer Bravo 3.  

So did the anode configuration change in 2004 and was my friend lucky enough to get newer drives?

You can, and should add on the prop nut anode. Fits all Bravo III's. It should come with the new prop nut you need too.

Yes, Merc changed the design after 2003.  Your friend's boat must have had the lower units replaced at some point.  It is possible to update an older drive with the cone on the prop nut but not the other one on the cavitation plate.

boatzincs dot com has the retrofit kit for the anode on the prop nut. I suggest adding it to the drive.
