Glue ideas

I'm thinking of putting an RBG LED light strip up under my swim platform.  Trying to think of attachment options.  I have heard, but never tried using 4200 as glue.  Basically I'd be gluing the strip inside to the vertical  edge of the platform (the rough fiberglass).

Thoughts?  Experience? Wild speculation?

4200 should work well. Remember, anything below water use 5200.

Above use 4200.

Here is my experience with led strip under swim platform . First try was a strip along the underside of the platform all around  not so good ideas first the led strip does not go around the curves if bend too much it will break the connections between the LEDs  secondly when you go into plane the swim platform  drag in the water and even if the led are waterproof they get damages and there is some water infiltrations .Second try  which work the best was to buy a silicone tube in which the LEDs strip was put in and the installation was a double row of led that was on the transom right above the sterndrives, the silicone tube was glue in with 4200 
By the way 4200 is good for above or below water line used only 5200 for a permanent bond

By the way 4200 is good for above and below the water line 5200 should only be used for permanent bonding.

X2 on the 4200 for underwater use. When I mounted my underwater lights, the company that sold them to me said to use 4200 in case there was an issue with them. If they needed to come off, the 5200 would make it next to impossible to remove them.

I would never use 4200 on a thru hull fitting underwater. LEDs maybe.

Thanks for the detailed response Frenchship.  Our 280 had ground effect light tubes mounted in a similar location to what you ended up with.  Seems that's the best spot for lights.  Now I just need to sell the admiral on the idea.
