Rinker 232 Captiva

mhardymhardy Member Posts: 1
I just purchased a 95 Rinker Captiva 232. It has the 7.4L engine. Can anyone tell me what outdrive I have. Is it a Bravo 1 or 2. I cannot read the serial number on the drive and the decals are gone, so how can I tell which one it is.

I wouldn't think it would be 2, which I believe is typically on larger boats with twin engines. The B1 would be more for performance boats, but we'll see what others say that own the boat.

It will be a bravo 2 with the larger engine option

You should be able to look and tell Bravo 2 has a very large prop for one.
The alpha drives are excellent as long as they aren't over-powered. They aren't designed for over 300 hp. I wouldn't push them to that mark, they won't hold up. The alpha drives still have the water pump in the foot, Bravo's have a seawater pump driven by a fan belt in the boat, kinda like the alternator.

I have a '96 232 with the 7.4 and it has the bravo 3 outdrive. The bravo 3 has 2 props that turn opposite each other, easy to tell if it's a 3.

Ok, if you have a 232 which is a runabout, with a 7.4 I would think 99% sure you have a Bravo 1  B2s are for heavy cruiser lower speeds.  B3's really weren't poplular in 95 and the 7.4 is too large for an Alpha.  Good luck  Al

Sorry, I should have given more info.  The boat has a Merc 350 B3 set up. The drive shower will fit the drive just not the boat.

When  the drive is up it kinda tucks under the transom so to speak. then there is the exstended platform as well. The shower cap has a stainless hose that clips into the rear of the cap then travels down to cav plate. there is no room for the hose and the shower cap would hit the top of transom as they are spaced up off the drive just a bit plus the thickness of the shower itself. I will try another type that does not actually use a cap on top of the drive bue more just bent tubing around the drive. Looks like alot more clearance. Stay tooned
