I've been trying to snag a new first mate for the warm weather. Pretty sure I'm headed in the right direction....

We will be the judge of that when we see the admiral on the boat in a bikini.  :)

Preparing for another foot of snow here in Connecticut! Looking forward to the Hartford boat show next weekend.

Spent last weekend on boat with dau, son-in-law and my two grand daughters (age 3 and 4 months). Did a little fishing and cruising. Temps in upper 60's and no clouds or wind. Temp today in low 70's no clouds. Weather here really nice but with no rain drought just getting worse. Will probably be back on boat after the super bowl for a few days.

Am shrink wrapped here but am heading south in a couple weeks to Anna Maria island, Fla.  Will be at a house on a canal with a dock, but NO Boat!  Anyone know where I can rent one?

Renting a boat is crazy like 300 a day plus fuel.

yep, real crazy...I was looking at renting one and decided just to buy a boat at that point but you might find something reasonable....there are a ton of places to rent one around that area, just don't know when their "season" is....nice area, you will enjoy!

Renting a boat may make sense if you infrequently visit a place, like a holiday home somewhere. The cost of maintenance, dockage, insurance etc. could easily top $6000 a year. So if you only get to use that boat 10 times (which may be a lot considering), then that's $600 an excursion. Renting for $300 sounds like a more attractive option, then you hand her back and don't need to worry about anything.

Renting a boat for a day on the water while on vaca is a great way t see the spot from a wonderful perspective. Anna Maria is a beautiful spot t boat. Go for it.
