My boat didn't have a mattress in the mid berth, I'm guessing it's a full size? Can I put a standard mattress or should I use an air mattress?

A regular mattress is much better. You may have a shower sump to deal with under the mattress.

It should have been cushions and not a mattress.

Just remember that a mattress may be more prone to mildew IMHO

mildew is the reason i was thinking an inflatable one so i could take it out and wipe it down

Just ordered a new one for our aft cabin. 3" of natural Latex on top of 2" of bio-foam at 2.5 lbs density.Covered by natural Bamboo material. 74"x63".

I sleep in the aft cabin, so one boat buck is worth it to have a good nights sleep.

I anchor a lot, sleep on that boat a lot,We use the boat a lot. Can't wait to feel the difference on this mattress than that piece of foam they put in the boat when they build them. Serious up-grade for us.

I put a foam topper on the cushions and that helped a lot! I can only imagine a complete memory foam mattress. I use one at home and if I could get the admiral to quit snorting I might get a complete nights sleep. LOL

Maybe a sleep number bed with the reclining action is what i need in the boat, i love the one i have in the home lol

Yes, I love the sleep number bed I have at home!  I've added the foam topper on what I have and it works pretty well.  The two twin beds in the back actually have real mattresses.

I went through about 10 variations for sleeping comfortably on my 320 - we use the forward berth for catching our zzzzzz's. We tried the aft berth but it was like being in a cave. I removed the original padding ( wouldn't call it a mattress) and bought some foam, memory foam, more foam and more memory foam and eventually wound up with about 8" of "mattress". Turn out that changing sheets was all but impossible and even getting to the storage area under the front berth was a chore - so I bought an Aerobed with the built in air pump and we love it. It weights about 5 pounds so lifting it to get access to the storage area is very easy and we just deflate it a bit to change the sheets. end of the season, I just deflate it and roll it up and put it in the original storage bag. I also bought a second Aerobed for the aft berth for guests.

The Areo bed is also a good solution to the non-mattress. Glad it worked for you!

They are good, we just didn't want an air mattress. But they are good!

Im still thinking of using the standard mattress i have because i hate to see it go to waste (just bought my son a loft bed)
