I put it on facebook after reading some posts and didn't get any interest . I am looking to be there midday on Friday. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
The weather is looking fantastic for the weekend! Mid 80s and mostly sunny!! Friday may have a little wind, so be on the lookout for some waves. I'm gonna push to make it between any weather on Thursday evening for that smoother ride up! Can't wait to see everyone! we have the Christmas tree ready to go!
Well we were on the way today and got the alarm , Shut things down and found the port gear oil was EMPTY. Filled back up and it was running into the hull . We brought it back home and are more upset that we didn't make it there than we are about the leak. I hope it was a good time and now I have Christmas cookies to eat. See you next time.
Sorry to hear that seadogs. We were wondering where you guys were. There were two others that had the exact same problem (gear lube in the engine room). One came anyway and the other stayed back.
I have to say, the weather was the best that it has ever been!! The max we had was 18 boats. I know more than half were Rinkers (thank goodness!) and then all the wannabes! What impressed the admiral and I the most was how much it felt like Christmas! Everyone decorated their boats (yes, even the non-Rinkers, actually that is who won the most decorated prize) and there was a lot of giving of gifts going around.
Tree-lighting ceremonies were fantastic along with the sunset cruise and Christmas caroling! I think we had 7 dinghy's together! We had the entire anchorage saying merry Christmas. On our way out Sunday, one of the sailboats yelled it to us!
& food, my gosh! There was so much and it was so good! I was still eating as we were pulling out yesterday. & the smooth ride home ended things perfectly! Nothing better than a big 'convoy' for the ride home!
Thanks again to everyone for making it so special!! For those that don't know, next year's theme is Pirates! & yes, I'll get some pictures up here soon.
Thanks guys! & yes Handy, you've met my Dennis the Menace! & that tree, well, the winds on Friday morning were going pretty good and it stayed on without any problems. I used some lines between the radar and TV antenna.
This sounds great. I just purchased my 2005 342 late last season and keep it in Stone Harbor NJ. Anyone interested in connecting and heading down together?
@jmhoffman I'll be starting up a new topic on this very shortly. I've spoke with Patrick, who will be coming down from Longport NJ. The tentative date right now is the weekend of July 16th. I am waiting for one more final plans in July before I post the topic with that date. Every year I just can't imagine it getting better than the last, but this year's theme will bring out the "Pirate" in us all! Be on the lookout for the new post real soon!
Yes, same location. You can make a trip out of it. Two nights at Solomons, then South Herrington, then follow us up for the Rendezvous, then St. Michaels on the way back??
Well I didn't end up buying the Rinker 342 (I got a Cruisers 320 W/inboards) but I still love this Rinker forum (great info and great people) I assume it would still be okay for me to join.
@ChesapeakeChiller - For sure! Cruisers makes a good boat and it would be cool to get feed-back from you. My Rinker dealer had a 330 Cruisers for sale and it was a nice looking boat. It did not have as much cabin head room as my Rinker but the fit and finish of the Cruisers was very good. IMO - please stay on! Congratulations on your purchase....and how about some pictures? MT
CC, all good here. You are welcome to join us at this year's Rendezvous as well. As you can see from our pics, we have others there besides Rinkers. But expect a little joking with. A dock mate of mine has a beautiful Cruisers, actually I think may be a 330. It has inboards and we sure have a good time taking slower cruises on the river while partying it up. It has a really nice open layout in the cabin.
