Thinking about it... just bought my boat at the Metro show last fall, but I just like being around boats. Can't go Monday.. heading to the Rinker factory in Indiana to see my boat.
Never too early to start planning my next upgrade either I guess. Might end up with one of those 327SSX's or something (probably a 2012 to save some $$$ though). This year will tell me if I really "need" a cruiser, or just a place to crash at the end of the night after too many "pops". -=Mike G.
Mike, that's how the addiction starts.:) oh, also how the boating addiction starts too. LOL! A few 'pops' & then a few overnights causes bigger boat. We like to permanently anchor somewhere each weekend and then begin the fun! Oh I can't wait!!! Was gonna do some boat work this Friday but the weather is just too cold! Lows in single digits again!
Enjoy the boat show! always nice to drool over new stuff!
I might wander over on Sunday, going to be well below zero at night and windy so might pass on a ski day for boat wandering. I'll just make sure to leave anything behind usable for a downpayment of any sort to prevent a boat buying mishap. lol
Our winter boat shows don't usually have anything larger than 35', so the admiral doesn't have too worry about any large items coming home (she says next one has to be 50' or more...). But the little knick-knack boat stuff is always fun to get. I think I'm due this year to hit the Annapolis show in the fall, it's been a couple years (yeah, it's tough to stay away). Definitely need to bundle up this weekend!
I might make it Sunday to the show. I love going because it gets me all geared up for spring and splash day. I was so sad that I missed the Cleveland Boat Show this year. That one is worth the drive, besides all we have to do around here is dream about summer and boating. LOL....Everyone have fun and enjoy the shinny new boats!
Went to the Cleveland show this year. They had it combined with another show (sportsman and outdoor show) You could get a dual ticket. Was a little disappointed in the fact that they had everything but what we wanted to see. (Really was looking for that mid range cuddy) They either had 32' bow riders (what a waste of money) or 19 foot BRs. They had some 34' nice cruisers and a 45' dream boat (I refused to take the tour, I don't have $1.5 million in my back pocket). Was really looking for a sport boat for ideas on a rehab. Met some great people from Michigan and Pennsylvania (both giving us information about their marinas they dock at and invited us to spend a weekend when we make it there). Found a 34' four wins I'd love to have if I could afford the fuel and had the experience of a 12' beam and operating a boat that big. Not gonna fool myself or anyone else. It's been a while since a boat has been in my household and a 24' 8'6" beam is plenty for a season or two...
Doing a 25 year old Project Boat after a 35 year hiatus from boat ownership. Catch us on Kelley's Island at the Seaway or Portside Marina or Middle Bass at the State Park Marina MOST SUNDAYS and weekends in July! Call My Dinghy on Channel 16.
