Hello, I just purchased a 2008 captiva 246 and would like to add a chartplotter fishfinder. My questions are how did you mount the transducer? More specifically where did you go through the transom? If I go through the transom under the swim platform will I be above the water line? My next question is where did you mount it on the dash? If someone had a picture that would be awesome. Looking forward to getting out in the spring if it ever stops snowing. Thanks for any info you can provide.

Since I no longer have a speedometer, we ran the cable through where the speedo sender cable entered the transom. It's below the water line. I mounted the display in the center of the dash, next to the stereo remote.

If you do go in below the water line, remember you should drill a large hole, fill it all in with epoxy, then drill the smaller hole for your cable on the epoxy fill. This will prevent water from penetrating into the core of the transom and causing rot, which is a common problem on fishing boats.
My transducer is more or less where andyd has his in the picture he posted, and it works fine.Boat Name: King Kong
