Have a 270/350 MPI/Bravo III- idle just a tad above 175 and when running about halfway from 175 and the next mark-reason for concern?

Nope... Right on schedule... The stat is rated at 165* but varies from stat to stat a little.. there's a little dead space where the probe lives, and water doesn't exchange around it as quickly, giving slightly elevated temps.. 

When it heads north of 185* regularly, its likely time for a new sea pump.

Mines a tiny bit lower on average (warm idle 160-165, on plane 170-175), but thats based on a not so dead reliable Faria gauge, so take that with a grain. I'll bet your water temp is 10-20* higher than average up here in the Great Lakes, so that would make it warm up a bit more too.

thanks all....I have a new raw water pump but have not done my manifold/risers yet and have no idea if they have ever been replaced, I assume not. I need to get after that before it's a problem.........
