Reuse drive oil

Just realized i will have to fill up my bravo 1 when i start the boat coming out of storage only to drain it again when i pull the drive for routine inspection. Do you guys think I'll be ok to reuse that oil again?

Personally, I'd buy a gallon of house brand gear oil for the test run, then toss it. Investment: maybe $12... Run the good synthetic stuff on the refill... Make sure the cheap stuff doesn't have a friction modifier in it.

What kind of service?  Can't you just clamp the oil line?

Just taking it off for inspection. I guess i can just pinch the line on the reservoir. Thanks.

you dont need to drain the gearlube to pull the outdrive.... worst that can happen is that your lube monitor on the engine may drain out.....good time to clean and refill the monitor

It will reseal when you pull the drive, it will not leak out.  No worries!
