Battery charger

I did a quick search but didnt really find the answer.
My shore power cord goes to an outlet and the battery charger plugs into that, is that a normal set up? the reasoin i ask is the outlet is bad because my charger does not work when connected to that outlet but works when i connect it to a power cord.
I guess i need to replace the outlet, but if things are done different know i will change it?

I just checked mine and had a Home Simpson "Doh" moment, there is a breaker for the Charger and it was tripped! thanks MarkB

my charger was hard wired in. I put a plug and outlet on it,so if I stay somewhere overnight and there is no proper shore power I can plug in extenstion cord. it has worked well for me. I can keep fridge ,lights tolet etc. hope this helps.

George, you also could've just bought an adapter that goes from the 30amp connection to a regular 3 prong 120VAC end to connect to an extension cord.  You just can't turn everything on at once since you would probably be at 15amps.
