Vinyl Windows

Hi,

does anyone have any suggestions for flattening out the vinyl camper cover windows? I was thinking of taking them out and laying them flat between two towels and ironing them with a warm iron?  Has anyone tried this? Thank for you input in advance.

Hey Bruce...everyone seems to have their own solution for this, but I'd go as old-school as possible. Let a hot, sunny day work its magic. Lay them out and the sun should make the isinglass soft and pliable again. If the isinglass is dry and brittle, however, you may need to replace it. There's nothing you can do at that point. Recommended storage solution is to roll up your canvas enclosure, not fold it, by the way. Under NO circumstances would I ever put a hot iron to any part of your enclosure.  You will just accelerate the degradation of both the canvas and the isinglass. Mother Nature to the rescue!

The eisenglass can be damaged by materials with a 'pattern' - ie terry towels when wharm/hot and you cannot undo it.  As noted..let the warm sun help.  KISS

Thanks for the advice, I guess I’ll just try to be patience and keep waiting for spring to get here in the Midwest and let the sun do its thing.  It’s been a long winter and we just bought this boat and are trying to get it up in shape.

      Thanks again,
